Cyber Intelligence Europe 2026
Ekitaldiaren deskribapena
Today started the 12th edition of the Cyber Intelligence Europe conference in Brussels, bringing together government, law enforcement and cybersecurity leaders from across Europe to discuss strategies, capabilities and cooperation.
Over two days, the event focuses on how national and regional approaches can strengthen Europe’s response to large-scale cyber threats, particularly those affecting critical infrastructures. Within this context, it has been a valuable opportunity to share the Basque approach alongside other European strategies — including those from Romania, Italy and Switzerland — under the session dedicated to National Cyber Security Strategies, Policies and Capabilities.
Our Director, Javier Diéguez presented “Basque Cybersecurity Strategy: Regional approach aligned to Spain and Europe”, highlighting how Euskadi is contributing to a more coordinated and resilient European cybersecurity ecosystem.
The Basque Cybersecurity Strategy is built around a set of flagship initiatives:
- Defining and implementing civil protection models to respond to large-scale cyber incidents.
- Strengthening the fight against cybercrime in close cooperation with Ertzaintza, with special focus on critical infrastructures and electoral processes.
- Promoting the development of European technology by investing where we can be more competitive.
- Building future talent through multiple pathways, with a strong focus on vocational training.
A shared space like this reinforces a clear idea: resilient cybersecurity in Europe requires alignment, collaboration, and a strong connection between regional and national strategies.
